China confiscates assets of Uyghur detainees

China has confiscated tens of millions of dollars of property and assets of Uyghur detainees in "Xinjiang" (Uyghurland or East Turkistan). Courts sell off property and company shares once belonging to jailed Uyghur business owners.

A recent report pointed out that the confiscated assets belong to 21 people from the Uyghur minority, and their total value is $84.8 million.

Among the properties up for auction was a four-story building in the western city of Kashgar, near the city's most important landmark, the nearly 600-year-old Eid Kah Mosque.
